+1 to all of that.
I find it tragic that after the latest car madness episode from the weekend - at Magill Rd : http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0,22606,25254550-5006301,00.html .. there are heaps of young drivers placing comments to the effect that "Well, we don't have a race track to practice on, so where do you expect us to race - we have to use public roads."
ummm .. the obvious stupidity of these attitudes is beyond reason.
When I look around Adelaide, I see : - world class velodrome - world class rowing course - world class swimming pool - world class mountain bike park - world class cycling events - world class triathalon events - world class motor racing events (clipsal, adelaide classic, collingrove hillclimb, mallala club racing, go-karting, WRC rallying at Mt Crawford, etc) that are accessible.
Anyone that is serious about the discipline of racing is very well catered for. in our quaint little town here.
All we are lacking is a world class year-round snow skiing venue, complete with chairlifts and chalets !! edited by Steve OConnor on 30/03/2009
