I've noticed that if you keep an eye on the pro cyclists via Twitter etc a lot of them seem to be eating Nutella.. I'm guessing this isn't a coincidence and it must do something for performance... Anyone got any idea what's so special about it? edited by JDL on 12/06/2009 edited by JDL on 12/06/2009

It must be a product placement deal, as done in the film industry, what with sponsors so hard to come by these days.

simple sugars fuel every cell in the body.
nutella has a lot of simple sugars in the form of refined sugar,( first ingredient on its label). bananas, dates, sultanas have a lot of simple sugars without the refined sugar negatives.
sugar and athletic performance go hand in hand. run out of glycogen and you run out of power. complex carbs take days to digest and there is a reason why we see athletes guzzling simple sugars in gels, lollies, fruit, drinks etc. nobody is guzzling blended pasta..
refined sugar or healthy sugar. we decide. edited by harley j on 25/06/2009
