The thought has crossed my mind to buy a spin bike.

What's good what's not and what are the 'features' I should look for in a spin bike when training for the road?

A while ago Revive trialled a few bikes as they were thinking of upgrading. The best we trialled was a Schwinn (Blackwood Fitness has these....worth the extra money....one of the bikes we trialled (cant remember the name) but was so bad the crank fell off during an RPM session......

If you are just looking for working on your cadence I personally think any sort of trainer that attaches to your current bike is best, whether its Rollers or a trainer, as you are in the exact position you would be on the road. Which sure may not seem like a big deal but if you have had a proper bike fit then why change your riding style when training indoors. This sort of simulation can be achieved a lot cheaper than those professional spin bikes you get in gyms. Only thing with trainers is they can be noisy, which is why I think rollers are best, and more fun than being locked in one position.
Hopefully will see you out at a Smokkelaars ride soon hey Matt!
